New fountain in my counseling space courtesy of my field supervisor & mentor :-) absolutely love it! And it’s battery operated so no wires to hide AND it doesn’t take up outlet real estate!!

Sometimes you just have to make some deep fried latkes…

“Take the word, take the waves!” Si Se Puede! If and when we lose net neutrality then we go back to the radio for sharing if important news, or adhoc networks.

Some late night thoughts: well before the Internet, radicals communicated with each other on soap boxes, in coffee shops, in print through radical newspapers, in front of church pulpits, in poorly copied zines, and over radio (with varying degrees of legality). I became politically engaged when (at 17) a radical newspaper was thrown on my desk at school and I discovered the writings of some incredible activists. Net neutrality would have serious ramifications (to be sure) but let’s not buy into this nonsense that it would end or seriously hamper activism (in fact I would argue in many ways it would make it more grass roots again). Rev. King didn’t organize his marches via Twitter, and Saul Alinsky didn’t unionize folx over Facebook. So read your Emma Goldman, your Alexander Berkman, your Saul Alinsky, your Leslie Feinberg, and remember that if they take away Net Neutrality we take to the air waives, if they take the air waives we do the old fashioned organizing by going from town to town on Greyhound and we take to the Pulpits. Either we: we got this fam. Stay Gnomie.
