No Dual Relationships Policy

No Dual Relationships Policy

As a licensed clinical social worker, maintaining clear professional boundaries is critical to ensure ethical and effective care. To that end, I adhere to a strict no dual relationships policy, which prohibits interactions or exchanges that could compromise the therapeutic relationship.

A dual relationship refers to any situation where multiple roles exist between a therapist and a client. Examples include, but are not limited to, social, financial, or business relationships. This policy is in place to prevent any conflicts of interest, maintain professional objectivity, and prioritize the well-being of clients.

While my website and professional profiles may include features that allow for contributions—similar to those used by content creators such as YouTube streamers, gamers, and influencers—these options are not for past or current clients or patients, or their friends or family members.

If you have ever been a client of mine, or are a friend or family member of a current or former client, you are prohibited from using these contribution features to preserve the integrity of our professional relationship and adhere to licensing and ethical standards.

While it is impossible to verify the source of any given contribution before it is made, all contributions are reviewed after they are received. If it is discovered that a contribution has been made by a current or former client, or a friend or family member of a current or former client, that contribution will be returned, and the matter will be discussed with the relevant patient(s). Depending on the circumstances, this may lead to the termination of the patient-therapist relationship.

This policy ensures that therapeutic care remains free of conflicts of interest and protects both your well-being and my professional responsibilities. Thank you for understanding and respecting these critical boundaries.
